AVAILON, INC. AND UEA, INC. ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP IN DESIGN, MANUFACTURE AND DISTRIBUTION OF SLIP RINGS TO NORTH AMERICAN WIND POWER MARKET
Availon, Inc., a premier provider of parts and engineering services to wind power industry in North America, and United Equipment Accessories, Inc. (UEA), a leading manufacturer of wind turbine and other custom components for motion applications worldwide, are pleased to announce their partnership in design, manufacture and distribution of slip rings.
UEA slip rings offer design versatility as component kit rings or as completed, ready-to-mount assemblies with optional pre-wired harnesses. A wide selection of circuitry is available, with many combinations of amperage and voltage (AC or DC). The compact design is made possible by brushes stacked on alternating sides. UEA Slip Rings come in a variety of bore sizes, from .500" to 14.00". This bold approach to innovations translates into great opportunity for Availon and UEA to develop more new aftermarket products.
According to John Boorman, Availon North America’s Director of Sales, and Jim Carnegie, UEA’s National Sales Director, “The partnership will positively impact the North American wind power industry. In addition to being reliable quick-response suppliers of quality parts and components, both companies share a unique position by focusing on the custom-engineered aftermarket solutions.”
Steve Thompson, Availon’s North America President, notes: “Availon is always working on the engineering upgrades that minimize or eliminate the most common wind turbine problems. These results in numerous innovative upgrades based on the newest technologies developed by Availon and reliable third parties like UEA.”
Mark Hanawalt, UEA’s President, adds: “We share a similar approach in helping customers with their specific issues. For example, we manufacture custom-designed wind turbine slip rings that match exact customers specifications and are delivered in a matter of weeks. We are looking forward to working closely with Availon North America.”
The partnership between Availon and the Waverly, Iowa-based UEA will allow Availon to sell replacement components for aftermarket use in wind turbines. The stock will be kept in the Availon’s Des Moines and Texas locations. Availon and UEA will work together to facilitate the development of new UEA products and aftermarket solutions for many types of wind turbines.
